The DiveStay FAQ
Booking accommodation for a group of divers has never been so quick, easy and hassle free. We understand the difficulties there can be in arranging travel or finding a suitable Hotel, bunkhouse, or Bed and Breakfast that can take a group with the right bed configurations.
The Home Arms has 10 rooms designed to easily accommodate up to 24 people all in single beds if required. You can book ahead and choose the exact combination that best fits your group. We understand that numbers often change close to the event so we’ll try to be as flexible as possible if you need a different choice of rooms.
Diving
Diving is available on Wavedancer both with or without accommodation from buddy pairs to whole boat charters of 12 divers. Although usually booked up in advance, we often have a few spaces available at short notice. If you are flexible and would like a dive in the next couple of weeks, please give Gary a call and discuss available spaces. If you’d like to hear about spaces and special offers by email, you can stay in touch if you subscribe to the mailing list
How to Book
Booking by email or telephone is straightforward. Select or suggest the dates you require and we will get back to you with confirmation of availability for both diving and accommodation. We’ll let you know the costs, any group discounts available and any deposit required… and that’s it, you’re booked!
Eyemouth
Eyemouth is a holiday resort and fishing port, there is a lot of great stuff for non-divers and families to do. Both The Home Arms and The Ship’s Quarters have have been designed with flexible room configurations and families are very welcome. There’s the beach…and walks…and castles…and animals… and more. There’s now no need to leave the family at home while you’re off diving. (Sorry about that!)
Location
Eyemouth is situated just off the A1 in the South East of Scotland. If you’re coming up from the south, it’s pretty much the second turning on the right when you get to Scotland. Following the road into Eyemouth, you pass the impressive school at the roundabout and then turn right shortly after. There is a one-way system through Eyemouth itself, but just at the point where this starts you can drop down right into the Harbour. Parking is on the left, but you can usually drop your gear off on the jetty, as long as you don’t block it and move your vehicle off when you are loaded/unloaded. The harbour car park has an electric vehicle charging point.
The Home Arms is easily found by following the one-way system. There is a FREE car park right opposite the building. If you’re staying here, your gear is taken to the harbour for you! The Ship’s Quarters is on the harbourside. Parking is Free in the car park on the quayside.
Dive Shops, Dive Spares & Air
There is a small dive shop on the harbour in Eyemouth, another in Coldingham and yet another in the Post Office at St Abbs. The Home Arms has a small stock of save-a-dive spares and equipment so between us all, it’s likely we can keep you diving when the gremlins occur.
Gary generally sorts out all the Air Fills at The Home Arms. Nitrox is also available.
Eating Out – Eating In
Eyemouth has a number of excellent local Bakeries and Sandwich shops for a packed lunch. There are also some very good Fish & Chip shops. In the evenings, there are several local restaurants and pubs with excellent food. There are also some good take-aways you can order and collect to eat at The Home Arms.
